Standard Route: 14 miles 2500 ft climbing and descending
A great ride and group favorite! You will get to test your cardio endurance with the climb up Chimney Gulch and then crank it up on the descent(proper trail etiquette still applies) on Apex's Enchanted Forest, Grubstake and Pick N Sledge trails. Of course there is some climbing involved at Apex between the great downhill terrain. Good bike handling skills and good lungs are recommended for this ride.
Due to the size of the crew that this ride typically draws, and the different pace preferences within the group, there will be a split start. Those that prefer a more moderate pace should be prepared to leave the lot at 5:45 sharp. Those that like to go faster will usually leave the lot 10-15 minutes later than the first group. If you are not sure where you will fit within the group plan on the early start.
