Warren Gulch

What goes up must come down!

DISTANCE: 5 MILES ONE WAY / 10 RT

ELEVATION/GAIN/LOSS: 2930

After a few years of being closed the reroute is complete and ready for us to shred! There will be a few ride options for this event. Option one will be to ride up and down on the trail under your own power. Option two will be to do two laps downhill by setting up a double shuttle with those that come out for the ride. If you have rack add ons or vehicles better suited for shuttling please bring them out so that we can make this happen.

This one starts out climbing and keeps climbing until we reach Squaw Pass Rd. After a short break at the top we will point our bikes downhill and cruise back to the start. The trail surface is smooth/loose at the start and becomes rougher and rockier as you climb. It is all rideable with moderate fitness and bike handling skills.

The old parking area has been closed by Idaho Springs so check the trailhead pin in this posting to find the group.

Getting there: Drive West on I-70 to the 1st Idaho Springs Exit and head into town. Veer left at the central business district sign and continue to Soda Creek Rd. The Indian Springs Resort is on Soda Creek Rd. Go left on Soda Creek Rd crossing under I-70. Once you pass under I-70 continue about 1 mile on Soda Creek Rd until you see a small white building with a green roof on the right side of the road. If you reach Little Bear Creek Rd you have gone to far.
